ACH payment process in Sage 100..takes quite awhile to run through each remittance advice/email

Hi all

We have just started using the ACH payment module.  With about 25 vendors receiving payment this way, the program takes about 10 seconds to generate each email, which starts to add up to a lot of down time while waiting for each.  It is a bit nerve-wracking to sit and wait while this process runs through and I wonder what it would be like if we paid about 100 vendors this way. It would take forever!  I also worry about a hiccup on our server happening right in the middle of this... I wonder if there is anything we can do in our system to speed up remittance advice generation and e-mailing? Is there a way to do it outside of the actual check run (besides manually)? I hoe this makes sense..

    It can be a little frustrating waiting however I always remind myself that if I did paper checks, then I would have to spend time ripping off my copy of the stub,  stuffing envelopes,  putting on stamps and getting them to the mailbox (suspect that takes more than 10 seconds per).   While it's doing its thing I can work on something else (it doesn't go any faster with me watching it) .  And then the bank rec is faster as well because I only have to clear one item instead of multiple items.  Most likely more time saved by the time all is said and done not to mention reduced postage and supplies.

    As far as speeding things up - more ram in your workstation tends to help  -  and of course anything that increases your network throughput.  I can't really quantify the speed improvement for you however.

    thank you Thomas..it's good to know we aren't the only ones experiencing this....I guess it's just inevitable that it's going to take some time and we have to breath through it..

    We have a few payroll users with 150 employees. This takes about an hour to generate paperless. And the payroll generally must be done by a deadline. Thankfully it seems to have stabilized but very nerve wracking.

    We have a client processing 1,500 payroll paperless stubs each week.  The client was spending hours processing - so we called Sage.  They've found an issue, and a SP should be released soon to aleviate the pain for us all.
