Sage 100 standard 2016 very slow report manager/excel workbook and BI Tools/add account

SOLVED

The place I'm at recently upgraded to the Sage 100 Standard 2016, not sure what they were using before, the answers I have been able to get are MAS90 or SMI.

The accounting department is using Report Manager, going to what they need and clicking Run. This will bring up a box that does some SQL database operations and then will say building Excel workbook, this goes for about 5 minutes.

After this is loaded, if they try to use BI Tools/add account to something in Excel, the dialog box pops up, but every single digit entered takes about 30 seconds to a minute.

This is running through a HyperV VM, and I uninstalled symantec to make sure the anti-virus wasn't causing issues.

From what I can gather I assume the database or something isn't configured correctly, but I don't really know anything about this system. If there is any further information needed or anything I can do to help find an answer to my problem just tell me.

It doesn't look like it, when I try to launch the the module it says "you are not licensed to use this module".

To add the year filter to these reports yourself you would need the Connector module.

Reports I've built for clients I always ask how many years of data they need for the report and then add the filter to the Container. The clients don't need the Connector module. They just import report I send them.

Sounds like they have been running the Sage 100/MAS90 for awhile and probably have years worth of history stored in the GL files. Like I said earlier the default report send all years. So if they have 12 years of history the Excel output will have 12 years of data which is a drain on the resources.

So the thing I guess I don't understand is why the BI Tools/Add Account would have been working fine in MAS90 and SMI, but as soon as they upgraded to Sage 100 Standard 2016/SIR it is now taking several seconds with each key stroke.

Is there a different file format or something else that you could think of that I should check?

I noticed there are several Union Sub Reports in Report Manager. They have about 40 in there but only 2 are selected. I'm not entirely sure what these sub reports are doing, is there anyway to look at them or do I need to have the Connector module to edit them?
