Customer Unable to be Deleted

I just upgraded from Sage 2018 v6 to Sage 2022.1.  My AR people are not able to run the AR Report now.  The error message involves and error dealing with one customer.  When I look at this customer, he has a lot of extraneous characters in his name.  This seems to push some of the UDF fields around.

I decided I would rename the customer to remove the extraneous characters (probably introduced from WebSitePipeline as character coding issue? Web uses UTF-8, not sure what Sage uses).  When I do that, I get an error 26 Variable type invalid.  Program SY_MAINT.PVC Statement 436 Class AR_Customer_bus Method Write.

I figured this was a data mismatch of some sort and should just go to Data File Display and Maintenance and fix things from there.  When I try to edit the customer there, I get an error 26 Variable type invalid Program SY_FILEDISPLAY_UI.PVC Statement 1296 Class SY_FileDisplay_ui Method DoEdit.

Next, I thought I should do a VI job and just assign all fields for the customer.  I made an import that had about every field on it with an assign of values.  It gave me Error 26 in program SY_MAINT.PVC at line 0436.

Called our reseller who says he has never seen this issue.  He got Sage on the phone.  They had no luck.  They told me since I have IIG credit card processing, I need to call IIG.  I have not done that.

I did go into my linked tables and pull out all the fields for this customer with a previous customer created for him (our website allows customers to create new, duplicate customer records).  I see a few fields that are off like one of those weird characters was Sage's default field separator for the database.  I cannot seem to get anywhere to correct them.

Any thoughts on how to get this customer updated or deleted?  Is a merge likely to help?

Thank you for any pointers,

Chris
