*CUSTOM* Purchase History Report

I need to design a *custom* version of the "Purchase History Report" that displays the same information included in the standard report, but with only the YEAR TO DATE totals...and...all column (field) headings/detail need to be on ONE line for export to Excel.

For example, the following would represent my columns when exported to Excel:

Item Code  |  Item Code Descrip.  |  Product Line  |  Unit of Measure  |  Vendor #  |  Vendor Name  |  Quantity Purchased  |  Average Unit Cost  |  Dollars Purchased  |  Average Days Ordered

I've tried modifying a NEW version of the Standard report itself, but there are so many formulas and coding that I can't tell what can or cannot be removed to create the type of report I am needing. 

Any assistance with this would be very much appreciated!
