Order was removed from SO Entry, but is "Active" in sales order History?

Hello,

We have an issue where an order is currently marked as an "Active Order" under Sales Order and Quote History, but this file is not accessible inside of Sales Order Entry. We get the message: "The Sales Order number already exists in the History file."

The only way I could see this happening is if someone deleted the order, but wouldn't that trigger an order status change?

Thanks,

Surya how was the order created?  I saw this recently where the Lines were actually still in the Sales Order Detail file and history but the header was not present in Sales Order Entry but was in Sales Order History.  We solved this by creating a new sales order with the same header info then going into DFDM and pulling up the order and changing the sales order number to missing header. When it asked if we wanted to remove the old key we answered No. We then went back into Sales Order Entry and deleted the new sales order. The missing header now linked to the Sales Order Detail and the history files.

The order had originally come from a web page.

Did anyone ever figure out how/why this happens? It occurs about monthly for us. Coming from web site.

This has also happened to 2 of my clients recently, both on v2022 & one was reporting it on v2019 as well. Both are on Sage 100 Premium, so SQL back end. They have always been a S/O that is all drop ship items. Both have created a P/O from the S/O. Then when they go to invoice, the header is missing & detail records still exist. Have to recreate the SO_SalesOrderHeader record in DFDM to get it back so they can invoice. I've opened a case with Sage & they don't have any answers.

Can anyone confirm any of these same conditions?
