Does anyone know of a fix for this error, on Win 8.1 Pro 64 bit, when running MAS90 v4.12c workstation?

Enter username and password, click OK.

About 50% of the time, right after the main window opens, the window is blank, and you get this error:

Launcher: The following error has occurred.
Access violation at address 0044FF7E in module 'launch32.exe'. Read of address 00000134.

Click OK

Followed by error:
Invalid index.

Close the window, launch MAS90 again - it works. Try it again - same error.

Anybody know of a fix?

Hey dbdan22, the resolution to that error may depend on the version you are running. I suppose it's possible that you are correct when you say "MAS90 v4.12c", but I've never heard of that. I do recall MAS90 v4.10 (which may have been the most seriously flawed of all the major releases in Sage's history), but to the best of my knowledge the "c" or "cloud" versions didn't come out until much later. You may want to check your "Help - About" or the Installed Modules Listing to get the full version number.

Re that error, you may want to check to see if PEP is turned off, if they even had PEP way back in the 4.10 days - a la KB #: 29113.

Rob I think back then it was C/S meaning Client Server.

Any reason to not upgrade?  You're going to waste a lot of time trying to get outdated software running, let alone supporting it.

V4.12c comes from Right click on \MAS90\HOME\PVXWIN32.EXE > Properties > Details tab: Product version v4.12c

I'm sorry but I can't find a reference to KB #: 29113 anywhere. Do you have a link?

When I search for MAS90 & PEP, I only come up with version 4.50 or later.

Yikes... that is ancient pre-v3.71, which is from the Y2K era.  This file (pictured below) is from 2002.  (The version used by Sage 2019 is 9.61.25).

Even upgrading from something so old would be painful (if at all possible).
