I am not sure where the information you have came from but the Payroll Department Number length has not been increased in  Payroll 2.0 .  This is an enhancement that is in our backlog but we do not have an estimate of when it may be added to Sage 100.

You may be thinking of the Earning and Deduction Codes which were increased from 2 to 6 characters in Sage 100 2018 Payroll;.

I did see that the payroll department number was increased..  unfortunately it was a misprint..  I am looking forward to this becoming a reality...

Yes, I did know EC and DC where increased.  I did see a partner misprint that the employee code was also increased..  I'm disappointed, however believe that this will be available sometime soon.
