Yes, the 2016 IRD should be installed prior to year-end processing AND after the product update 1 for version 2016. Please see knowledgebase article 49810 for important information as well as our year-end center http://sagecity.na.sage.com/ for the NEW 1/31/2017 filing dates, the Aatrix deadlines to meet these dates and additional information. Do NOT install the 2017Q1 Tax Table updates until you need to do the first payroll in 2017.

I have Sage 100 2015 Update 4. For future reference, do I need to wait until after the last payroll of the year is done before installing the IRD?

KB 49810 explains all of this information. We recommend the following versions or higher are installed prior to installing the 2016 IRD. Sage 100 2017, Sage 100 2016 Update 1 (5.30.1), Sage 100 2015 Update 3 (5.20.3), Sage 100 2014 Update 7 (5.10.7). IRD's should be installed prior to running the year-end reports. They contain changes for 1099s and ACA. See the Sage City Year-End Center and ACA Resource Center for more information - especially on NEW filing dates 1/31/17 and Aatrix deadlines to accomplish that. http://sagecity.na.sage.com/

And the PU and URD should be installed prior to printing W2's/1099's.

Is there a reason I am unable to download the 2016 IRD? None of the links are working in article 45982. I have tried help with no reply for 2 days.

Not sure where you got that number. Try 80241 or search for IRD 2016.

I just tested and could not bring up 2016 IRD or 45982 in the knowledgebase search field. Then I went to Downloads (after logged in), selected Download Sage 100 Interim Release Download (IRD) for 2016, which takes you to kb 80241 then Download. Seems very slow in some links/windows so I will look into these issues.

Thank you Tom, I think the invalid kb was my issue. That kb # is actually a Sage 50 US kb so it was not finding it which was why it was 'slow'. All seems to work fine with any method and kb.

I just downloaded the 2016 IRD, and discovered there are TWO of them - c'mon Sage, which do we use?

There is only one IRD for 2016. I am not sure what else you are finding. Could you provide KB#s or titles of the kb page so I can better answer what you are seeing?
