Getting smarter: What is new in Sage Intelligence 2014 for Sage 300 ERP 2014

4 minute read time.

As we continue looking at some of the new enhancements to Sage 300 ERP 2014, this week’s blog post focuses on what is new in Sage Intelligence 2014.

As with Sage 300 ERP 2014, we’ve also re-vamped the interface for Sage Intelligence 2014.

From the screenshot below, you will see that the Report manager and Connector has a ribbon-style menu. This allows you to easily find and access needed features and functions like adding expressions or seeing dependencies.

With Report Designer, Lock Report and Demo Reports, we’ve modernized the interface, making it easier for you to accomplish needed tasks.

Also, Report Designer now includes Task Pane. This used to be known as the Report Designer Add-in, which had to be accessed separately in a different report. This is now part of the Report Designer.

Other changes in Sage Intelligence 2014:

  • Report Manager
    • Columns automatically sized to fit all text
    • Report Tress has been visually simplified
  • Report Viewer opens at the same size as when it was last closed
  • Containers can now be renamed during import
  • Excel Components (Report Designer, Tools and Distribution) now support multiple languages
  • Support for Excel 2010 64-bit edition
  • New Financial Report built in (similar to reports that can be found in the Sage Financial Reporting program):
  • Income Statement
  • Balance Sheet
  • Financial Ratios
  • Financial Forecasting

You can also securely store and run reports in Sage 300 ERP 2014 and we’ve added in-memory processing.

The new Reporting Bundle includes unlimited licenses for Report Manager, Report Viewer, Designer and Connector. This is available starting $99/month subscription.

Also included in the Reporting Bundle is the Sage Intelligence profitability dashboard.

What is the Sage Intelligence profitability dashboard?

The Sage ERP Intelligence Reporting profitability dashboard is a visual report that allows you to quickly see profitability by customer, product, or salesperson into a visual view using Microsoft Excel.

There are two versions available for the profitability dashboard: One for Excel 2013 and another for Excel 2007-2010. Both these versions have one for Accounts Receivable and Order Entry.

The Excel 2007 and 2010 version are compatible with Sage ERP solutions that support Excel 2007 and/or Excel 2010. The Excel 2013 version is compatible with Sage 300 ERP 2012 PU2/PU3 and 2014. The Excel 2014 version does have additional functionality that utilizes Excel's built-in capabilities such as mapping, bubble timelines, and data selection features.

Please note that the profitability dashboard is only compatible with Sage 300 ERP versions 5.6 and newer and SQL databases only.

If you are interested in adding the profitability dashboard to your version of Sage 300 ERP, it can be downloaded by going to support.na.sage.com. Under Support Resources, click on Sage 300 ERP downloads and updates. You will find the download links to the profitability dashboard under the appropriate version of Sage 300 ERP. You will need to import the report into Sage Intelligence after you've downloaded it.

There are courses over at Sage University that outlines what is new in Sage Intelligence 2014 for Sage 300 ERP 2014 as well as courses on the profitability dashboard.
