Welcome to the City: Introducing the New Forums

2 minute read time.

I want to take this blog post to help our Sage 300 ERP members better navigate Sage City especially around the Forums.

This is the section where you can get your questions answered by peers like yourselves.

If you have come from the old Community.SageAccpac.com community, all of the old forums and sub forums as well as legacy threads are there. So no worries, you will still be able to post your questions in your favorite forums like the Financial Suite, Operational Suite and Databases and Operating Systems forums.

Tip #1: In order to post in the Sage 300 ERP forum and/or reply to any of the questions/discussions posed in the Forum, you first have to join the group:

Tip #2: Mark your forum post as either a discussion or a question.

In the new Sage City forum, you can now differentiate whether your post is a question or a discussion. What is the difference? A discussion is perhaps a topic that you may want to have a friendly debate over or sharing ideas with others in the City. A question is something we are all familiar with. If you have an issue with something in Sage 300 ERP, you pose this question in the forum like you had in the past to get it answered by your peers.

Tip #3: You can mark whether or not your question was answered

One of the biggest advantages of an online community is the ability for customers to search the forums to see if another user has already asked a similar question.  Chances are good that the issue has already been asked and answered before.  If you asked a question and someone in the City has answered it, we encourage you to mark your question on whether it was solved or not.

There are three different ways a question can be marked:

1)      Answered

The example above also shows that the answer was verified by the asker and the response is marked as an answer. If you click on “Reject Answer” you are deeming that the response actually didn’t answer the question, which then will mark the question back to unanswered.

2)      Not answered

3)      Suggested answer

If someone clicked on No then the question will revert back to be noted as “This question is not answered”. If Yes was selected then this question will be marked as "This question is answered".

If you have any Forum tips of your own, we would love to hear them. Sound off in the comments.
