Sage 300 2024 w/PU1 Sage 300 Cannot Connect to Signon Manager - Resolution

Brand new install of Sage 300 2024 and PU1 on 2019 Server and 2019 SQL Server - not new workstations. Always have problems with the same 2 out of 6 workstations (all within 1-4yo) when it comes to Sage 300 workstation installs. I'm putting this out here because none of the normal resolutions worked for the old Sage 300 Sign-on Manager issue. Not environmental variables, registry edits, running as administrator, installing as administrator, lowest level security on user account control, user account is set as administrator of their own PC, ODBC32 and ODBC64 all test successfully in SQL Native Clients 11, 17 and 18. And finally, Regacc was also run with all success. The only solution I could find that worked was to install the program files locally on the 2 computers. Anything else I should've tried before the local installs?

  • Hi  please uninstall workstation setup on one of the problematic workstations, then uninstall all C++ Redistributables (especially version 2013) so that when you type C++ into Programs and Features (appwiz.cpl) nothing shows up for Redistributables, then run Workstation Setup again and allow Sage to install the specific versions of those Redistributables it wants.  Surprisingly I've never haThumbsupthis affect any other applications at many sites where I've done this and its gotten me out of trouble with the sign-on manager each time.  If that doesn't work, send a screenshot of the error and we'll go from there.  I promise its fixable Thumbsup

Thanks Tim but that did not work for me unfortunately.  This is the only message I get once I click on the Sage 300 icon and attempt to login as ADMIN user.  In the bottom left corner of Sage desktop I can see it attempting to make connection to the database and then the sign-on manager issue pops up. There's no indication of any errors in the Event Viewer for this. Users have full control access to the Sage 300 folders on the server and are part of the Domain\Administrators group.

Hi  can you log into the SQL Management Studio with the Sage300VaultOwner account and see the Sage300Vault and Sage300Store databases?  Does your Sage300VaultOwner account have sysadmin rights?  It sounds like System Manager is unable to retrieve the system information from the Vault and Store databases.  If logging into the Management Studio with your VaultOwner account works fine, and its confirmed as Sysadmin then its probably time to wade through the Event Viewer on your workstation or RDS server as a Domain Admin (so you can see all Event Viewer errors).  At the end of the day the underlying problem will be recorded in Event Viewer, it just might take a while to find.  Let me know how you go.

Hi   you may need run a Process Monitor https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/procmon to see exactly what is happening at the time of trying to access the sign on manager..   I have found in the past that some anti-virus software can these types of problems with the Workstation Setup.
