FIrewall screen opening delay v2024

Question

There is a site that behaves very oddly; new server and upgrade of Sage300 
 Server 2022 Std DC/SQL together (yeah I know security weakness - told I.T. 
 when Private Firewall is On at server 
 
 stations get green bar opening screen with error message about connecting to database 
 try screen again and works quickly and fine 
 If Private Firewall is off on server; everything fine. 
 Does not matter if Antivirus on or off. 
 
 Any thoughts, thanks

thanks for responses; this might have been I.T. misstep; they turned off Domain and Public and only left Private ON; and everything worked; no idea why .. but it works so running away; thanks for suggestions - taken note of them

Hi Ron Boyd if you want to try turning the firewall back on, you could try adding the following TCP inbound exceptions first: 
 Port 1433 SQL 
 Ports 8001, 8984 for Global Search 
 Port 389 for LDAP (Windows Auth) 
 Ports from 135 through 139 and 445 for file sharing/execution
