Hi everyone,

Office 365 is supported as long as it's 32-bit.
Still just 32 bit version!!! Sage 2022 and 2021 support Office 365 right? Do you know why basically we still need 32 bits? I remember that for G/L FR add-on was already running with 64 bits but not sure.....thank you very much sir
Yes, FR will support 64-bit Excel. Sage 300, itself, is a 32-bit application and unlike a couple of decades ago when we moved from 16-bit to 32-bit and learned the term 'thunking' - there is no thunking for 32 bit to 64 bit. So, Sage 300 cannot communicate with a 64-bit application just in the same way that Excel 64-bit VBA cannot run automate Sage 300.
So, unless you really need to have 64-bit Office installed, stick with 32-bit.
Get it, thanks Django..and if we install 64-bit, what main problem we could have?
Apart from using outlook to email out, what actual features require 32bit? I thought it was all 64bit compat now. Even the com api loads under 64bit Excel.
Can you show your declarations? I'd love to see this.
Its basic:
The Signon manager even works under 64bit. I think it's been working since 2020 as all my dev machines from then have Office 64bit installed.
And the code is:
Nice - I didn't realize it worked from Excel -> Sage. Can't go the other way but ADODB can be used to open up workbooks when Excel 32-bit isn't around.
Thanks!
No probs.
Back to the question, if you're using SMTP for emails then why do you still need 32bit Office?
Hi good morning everyone, so from all your technical answers.....does Sage 300 2021/2022 works with Office 365 64-bits to email out documents, import/export data through Excel, FR and typcal stuffs using Sage....or do I need 32 bits version?
It looks like 64-bit is finally supported. But personally I'm sticking with 32 bit, because I have lots of clients running older versions of Sage. And if I ever had a spreadsheet that was so big it required 64-bit, I would use a database instead.
Perfect, thank you Jay, have a nice weekend
