That's not how it works.  When you enter the manufacturer's number, you get the IC item #, not vice versa.

When you are entering a PO, you first enter the IC number and then you select the Vendor Item Number. I don't think it allows you to enter the manufacturer item number first. 

When you enter a PO, you don't need to enter any of the vendor info (cost or item number) if you have your vendor tables setup correctly.  MFG items are meant to be a cross over that will auto-cross to your part number if you enter the MFG item#.  Same thing with Customer Item number on the OE side.

If you are manually entering all your vendor information on each PO, then you are doing it all wrong.

No, we don't enter any vendor info. In the PO, we select the Vendor Code and enter the Item Number which will populate the Vendor Part #. We have all the Vendor and vendor number associated to the IC code already entered. We have also have the manufacturer item number associated with the IC code. But, the manufacturer item number column in the PO is blank. That is what I want to see how we can have it automatically done so when you enter the Vendor code and the IC code, it will populate the manufacturer item number...

Remember that MFG Items are not linked to an actual vendor code like customers are.  So if you have 10 different MFG codes linking to 1 of your items, the system would never know which one we want to use.  That's why it only works in one direction.  It allows users to enter the MFG code and it will auto-cross to your item number, but it can't go the other way.

Just type the MFG into the field where you put your part numbers,  if it finds the cross, it swaps them and populates YOUR item and moves that MFG to the correct field.  This is honestly a pain in the butt for us because there are multiple instances of 2 different MFG using the same item number for completely different items to us.  Without the ability to link a cross to an actual vendor number, we find this whole function to be useless.

There is a problem in PO on the desktop screens as you should be able to scan (or enter) the manufacturers code (barcode) and it should populate the IC item number like it does in Order Entry.

It was my problem, use the scanner or enter the manufacturers number in the Item Number Field (not in the Manufacturers item number), it will convert to the code to the Item code and populate the manufacturers item automatically.
