AR errors

A credit note was created and the system automatically generates a credit note number but an error batch was generated with the message CN00ABC already exists. Why would the system generate a credit note number which already exists?

Probably because a user entered that number manually in a different batch.

Its like 5 different credit notes which are being said already exist hence i thought its a system error . Since the credit note is not appearing in the GL recreating them will not duplicate them right.
