Bummer. 64-bit is not supported. And for 99.9% of users, is not even necessary.

Even Microsoft recommends that users run 32 bit MS Office.
99.99% of users will not even notice the difference between 32 and 64 bit.

You can try download and install the 32bit Access database engine.
Download AccessDatabaseEngine.exe and run it with the /passive parameter.

I see that my system currently has 2007 Office Access Database Version which was installed at the same time as Office 2013 64-bit. Obviously installing Office 2016 64-bit did not affect this file. I have now downloaded the 2010 Office Access Database 32-bit installer but now I am hesitant to install it as other forums go into details about registry changes and I am nervous to corrupt my office 2016 files. Any fool proof guide on how to do this?

Also, to the people commenting unhelpfully above, there are users who use massive spreadsheets with complex macros that require 64-bit Excel. Believe me, if we could have remained on 32-bit, we would have!!

Unhelpful comments? I don't see any, just reality checks. I would like to see a spreadsheet that is so massive and complex that it requires 64 bit Excel.
Anyway.... I gave you what you need to do: run the access database engine setup with the /passive parameter.
Access 2016 (if you have MS Office Pro 2016) kills the earlier versions of the Access database engine (google it) and there is no known fix at this date.

I have installed the 32-bit 2010 Access database engine in passive mode and this has fixed my problem.

Sage 300 ERP can again export / import to Excel and my 64-bit BI Tool (Excel add-in) still works.
