Sage 500 ERP 2018 client installation error on Windows 10 64-bit computer

SOLVED

Logged on as local administrator (computer name\administrator) on Windows 10 64-bit computer. Uninstalled MAS 500 ERP 7.80.3 client from computer and deleted Sage 500 related files. Downloaded Sage 500 ERP version 2018 client and launched installation with right click on Setup.exe > Run As Admin. Received error message: Sage 500 ERP Client Setup has failed. If the problem persists, please contact Product Support.

Then tried installation using Sage 500 ERP Client.msi again received "Error 1721. There is a problem with this Windows Installer package... "

I tried Knowledgebase KB article 58187 and article 36976. Please help me with installations. thanks.

    Having the exact same issue. Did you ever figure out the cause? 

    I have tried all the standard MSI installer issues. Can't find the answer to this one. Have it happening on two PC's

    Yes, we resolved this problem. It happened to be one of the latest Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributions. Try to uninstall latest Visual C++ Redistribution using Control Panel, reboot computer, install older version of C++ may be 2012, and install MAS 500. Once you got it working, you can update C++ redistribution. Our current version is updated to 14.14.26405. Play around with C++ Redistributions. Good luck.
