Failure to start Sage 50 (Peachtree) after upgrading Windows 10 Version 1709 for x64-based systems (KB4041994)

Posted By FormerMember

Good morning everyone,

After the Windows update downloaded and installed on my computer (Update for Windows 10 version 1709 for systems based on x64 (KB4041994)), I let the Sage 50 2018 (and previous versions) work

When running the application it tells me first an error that indicates that the start of the program has stopped and try to start again; After running with all the privileges as administrator, the applications boot without success indicating a Windows error that says that the program has stopped and then I sold the screen with the following error:

Sage 50 Accounting has stopped working.

A problem caused the program to stop working correctly.

Windows Will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.

  • Had that issue last week on one of the machines, took about eight hours of tech support over two days. The idiots don't know what they did to fix it but it cost us a lot of sales and wasted two days of trying to work then trying to get handwritten sales orders entered into the system. Sage doesn't care. Get ready to wait. I have a lot of time to answer posts like this because I am again waiting for Sage Business (don't) Care to call back. Called them this morning, had to wait 90 minutes for a call back, some idiot read a KB article back to me (after I told him I had read and tried it) then hung up on me when it didn't fix the problem. No call back. I am now waiting AGAIN for Sage to call me back.
