Sage 50 PeachTree 2012 upgrade database to SQL

SUGGESTED
Posted By FormerMember

Hi,

Our company has the PeachTree Complete Accounting 2012. It has been running for about 4 yrs now, currently we have been experiencing issues with the retrieval of data. We suspect it is caused by the amoun of data already stored within the Company database. We would like to inquire if it is possible to import the existing data into a SQL database and point the Peachtree software on that SQL instance? Also is there any recent product which utilizes the SQL as its database to ensure scalability?

Peachtree/Sage 50 uses Pervasive PSQL as its database and there's no way to change that. Have you tried purging some of your history to make your database smaller?

If you need all of your detailed history you can restore a backup to a new company which you could refer to when you need to look up history. Then in your regular company file go to the Tasks menu > System > Purge wizard. It will walk you through purging history through a cut-off date of your choice. It's usually best to only purge a couple years at a time.

Sage 50 Quantum is supposed to be able to handle a larger database thzn Pro, Complete, or Premium can. But it still uses Pervasive PSQL. You may want to consider upgrading just to get on a more current version. You can send me a private message if you would like more information about upgrading.

  • Are you running the 2012 on MS Widows 8 or 10?
