Is there a way to enter vendor invoices with more than one purchase order applied to the vendor invoice?

SUGGESTED

I have a client that often has multiple purchase orders going to the same vendor. When the vendor sends products to my client and invoices my client, they (the vendor) creates one invoice that has multiple purchase orders applied to the single invoice. When I enter the vendor invoice into Sage 50, I have to create multiple vendor invoices in order to "receive and close" the purchase orders. It seems that there should be a way to enter a vendor invoice that is made up of multiple purchase orders. Sometimes my client receives vendor invoices that have 10 or more purchase orders applicable to the one vendor invoice. It often creates problems when I have to create multiple vendor invoices in order to close out the purchase orders because sometimes the prices on the purchase orders is different to the prices shown on the invoice, and it creates problems when I have to "add up" all the individual invoices to make sure the total is the same as the original vendor invoice. (This usually happens when quantity discounts are applied to the total number of items from all of the purchase orders applicable to the one vendor invoice.)

There are also times when the vendor sends more than one invoice (again for multiple purchase orders) where one vendor invoice has quantity discounts and the second one does not, and when some purchase orders are split between 2 or more vendor invoices.

Is it possible to create a single vendor invoice where multiple purchase orders can be applied to the invoice? Is there a way to split a purchase order so that the purchase order is applied to 2 or more vendor invoices (especially if an item on the purchase order is split between 2 or more vendor invoices, and the price is different on each vendor invoice for the same item)? If there is no way to do this, is there a work-around that would make it easier to handle these types of situations (especially multiple purchase orders for one vendor invoice)?
