If I were you I would call them and stay on the line with them until that is fixed AND do not let them charge you for support to fix that either. That is clearly their problem and they should fix it on the spot for you. A couple of years ago I had an issue with the software "touching base" with SAGE upon startup because I don't keep my computer connected to the internet. After a few calls, they did something and my software stopped hunting to "check in" with SAGE whenever I opened the program. Unfortunately, after almost 2 yrs it's started up again so guess it's time to call again.

Most people think they know the sign-in name, but they don't.  It is case sensitive.  Go to windows explorer > Sage >  find your company file and look at the .CAX files.    That will show you your sign in name.  If you don't have a specific name, it is probably the default, Admin 

Interesting....don't know your own sign in name???  In case I ever don't remember my sign in name and want to view this .cax file, what program opens it?

You would be surprised how many people don't know their sign in name. No program opens it.  It is a file in your Sage company file in windows explorer. 

I think you misunderstood my question.....I asked what program opens the file that you directed us to in our SAGE company file....I understand how to locate a file on my hard drive, I am asking what program opens that .CAX file that I used windows explorer to locate so I can view my user name..... should I ever forget it.....Oh, you wouldn't happen to know if those templates I was asking about can be imported into SAGE 50US so I can get some use out of them, would you??                  Thanks for your help

These can be found in your SAGE 50 company file in Windows Explorer. 

They show you the users you have in your Sage 50 company

BNI is the company name.  The users in this company are Admin and Allen. 

OK so.....the answer to my question is "you don't need to open the file to learn the info, the name of the cax file is your user name"
