Sage 50 US 2020 Update failure and loss of all payroll and company information

My system attempted to update from 2019 to 2020 and failed resulting in a loss of all payroll and company information. After two attempts by tech support to recover data over two days there last comment was Sage was never meant to be a back up ! I have spent many hours waiting on hold or for a call back by tech support to get poor treatment and excuses for there sub standard service and software. I am now waiting on a level two technician to call me back and don't feel anything will come of it. The level one technician deleted both Sage Drive companies and all back up files are missing for the entire year.

Good luck to you all !

Don't you have a system that backs up your Sage information at least on a weekly basis, like Carbonite, that it might have a old version of your information?  I can relate though I lost 3 companies once due to a hard drive failure and ever since then we have had redundant backups - external hard drive and cloud based back ups.

It does back up frequently but all of those files were lost or deleted. We were able to recover yesterday after dealing with three different technicians and a local company trying to retrive data. We still cant update to 2020 and will be looking for a new accounting program.
