When the credit memo is paid or applied.   They allow you to receive inventory before the invoice is paid, they should allow you to receive a return before the invoice is paid as well. 

That would be a great suggestion for the Sage 50 programmers.

In any other program that is how it is done.  The material has been returned but sitting on the customer's account as a credit to be used later.

We are having another issue with trying to make inventory items inactive as well.  When we go through make inventory inactive and select all - it keeps locking up.  We have 3k inventory items that need to be made inactive.  I tried selecting a few at a time, but having to click each individual one instead of holding down the shift/or ctrl key to select multiple at a time - takes more time then I can give just one task.

Did you try the system tab on the left side of the dashboards? 

Go to Data maintenance and you can mark many inactive at the same time, but not all.  You should do this on the server machine. 

I did this and it took 2days to make all the items inactive that needed to be because I could only select a few at a time.

I am sure ti took more than 2 days to put them in and you didn't have to do them one at a time. 

Glad you got the job done and now you can move forward to purge them out.  FYI, Purging will not happen overnight either.  Please be patient.

The inventory items were uploaded, so it only took one day.  I could only inactivate a small group at a time by clicking each item individually that was to be deleted.  There is not an option or short cut to select multiple items at the same time.  I did consult with sage help to see if there was a quicker way.
