Is it compulsory to upgrade my Sage 50 premium 2018 5 users every year?

I am not ready to upgrade to a newer version, my sage activation online is no more working. why is that so.?

Ever since i migrated from Sage50 2013 complete 5 users  to Sage50 premium 2018 5 users 2years ago.... I have never enjoyed the use the software. too many irritating pop ups to upgrade. 

i am not ready to upgrade. Can someone assist me with this pop upgrades. i want it off.... until i am ready to upgrade... and why does my activation fail after installing a new windows for my PC?

    Hi ,

    Thanks for your question. Chances are your Sage 50 US software is a subscription product with a yearly renewal. According to KB 100182 ,  there is no way to turn off the notification that an update is available.. there's just a temporary work around.

    A copy / paste from the KB advises:

    Resolution

    It is highly recommended to allow updates to install. However, if you wish to defer the update:

    1. Select to cancel before the update installs
    2. Remove the download from the updates folder in the datapath to stop it temporarily. 
      Note: The update will download again each time the user exits the program.

    The only way to stop the automatic downloads or updates is to allow the updates to install (recommended).

    Once installed on the new computer, did you activate online?    I don't think you have a subscription. 

    I do think you will need to find of the service releases and install them on your new computer too They should be in the updates folder of the computer where the data is kept.  

    If you don't install the updates, your data backup from the old computer will not work on the new one. 

     If you need a Sage 50 2020 perpetual program, I still have a few left.   Contact me soon.
