password error in sage 50

We are having problems after installing 21.1.1 with a message that says our password needs to be changed.  When we try to change it, it then tells us that our old password is incorrect so we cannot open our companies.  Sage advised me to go into those companies and delete any files with .DDF after them.  I did that from our server and this is still not fixing the problem.  When we try to log in to the company, it loads all of the DDF files again.  This has happened numerous times..  Anyone have any other solutions?
