user clients freezing/locking up when someone tries to kick them out.

SUGGESTED

has anyone experienced this? We can't kick out users, it will just lock their sage up until they force close it or reboot the computer. We need the ability to kick them out without needing access to their machine or force closing from the server.  I tried uninstalling Payroll sync wizard but that didn't seem to help.

You can use the User Login Manager screen to see which users are currently logged in to your company and log them out if necessary. There are some situations where all users that are logged in will not show up in the list.
    Why would this happen?
    1. Most users log into the Sage 50 company using the same default data path. However, if a user has logged into the Sage 50 company using a different data path, the other users will not see this user in this list and this user will not see the other users in this list. It is important that all users log into the company using the same data path in order for all of the logged in users to appear in this list.

    2. Users have different data paths if their data paths point to different servers. For example, let's say most users have a default data path to Sage 50 on server A. If a user who has a default data path to Sage 50 on server B browses to a Sage 50 company on server A, this user will not be able to see the users with the default data path to server A and those users will not be able to see the user with the default data path to server B even though they are all logged into the same company.

Note: With the User Login Manager, you can view users in the current company or in all companies. However, you can only log out users in the current company.

If you select Log Out All Users, this will log out everyone who is currently logged into the current company. This includes any users who are logged in, but not showing up in the list. The log out will happen based on your settings in Log Out Options.
If you select Log Out Selected Users, this will log out all of the users that you have selected. However, if you select all of the users in the list, any users who are logged in, but not appearing in the list will also be logged out because it appears that you want to log out all users. The log out will happen based on your settings in Log Out Options.

Warning! You should be very careful when logging out users. It's a good idea to make sure users aren't in the middle of doing something before you log them out. In most cases, whatever process a user is doing will be stopped and the user will be logged out. However, there may be some cases where the process cannot be stopped and the user is not logged out.

  • Third-party add-on programs also keep your licenses open. .   When programs like Act! or Sage Exchange are running, they will not allow sage 50 to close.
