SOLVED

Is Windows 10 Home compatible with Sage 50 2021.  I do not use 50 Cloud.

Yes it is. If you have a dedicated server you should consider Windows 10 Pro, but for a single user or a couple of users on a peer to peer network, Windows 10 Home is fine.

Here's a link to the full system requirements.

If you're on an older version of Sage 50 and are considering upgrading, you can contact me at [email protected] or 918-851-9713 for a quote on either a traditional perpetual license or a subscription.

I currently have Sage 50 Accounting Premium 2020.  I thought I had to upgrade to 2021 in order to receive the payroll tax updates. Is that not correct?

You have to stay on a maintenance plan in order to receive payroll tax updates. Sage has released a 2021 payroll tax update for version 2020 but you will eventually need to upgrade to version 2021 for your payroll to keep working, usually they give you until March. But I don't think there is any reason for most people to wait to install the upgrade.

Remember that upgrading is not linked to the changing of the year or to when you pay your annual maintenance fee. Version 2021 released several months ago. As long as your plan is current you are entitled to the upgrade. You can check the status of your plan by going to the Help menu from the main Sage 50 window and choosing "About Sage 50 Accounting." Look for "Plan Level" to see if your plan is current. As long as it doesn't say "Expired" you are entitled to version 2021. But if it's expired, then you need to purchase an upgrade in order to use payroll.
