Year end processing: from W-2, 943 and 1099-NEC

SOLVED

Year end processing: Issue #1: form 943 input screen does not show line 11 or line 13 calculation until return is printed, does not allow manual change to line 10. Why?,

Issue #2: Child employees under age of 18 are exempt from paying social security and Medicare .. there appears no provision in Sage 50 to do this. When printing W-2's Sage 50 will not allow zero's in the taxable SS wages and taxable Medicare boxes, forcing the inclusion of amounts.  How is this done?

Issue #3: It appear Sage 50 US only prints 1099-MISC. Does it not provide for 1099-NEC?

  • 1.)  943- When you fill in the information on page 2, doesn't it update page 1?

Did you check the little blue  box on line 10?

2   Did you try removing the Medicare and SS wages?  Just a thought.

3.)  We sell the 1099 NEC template for  $25 with a $25 credit back when you purchase forms from us in the future. www.bestbusinessstrategies.com/.../sage50NECtemp

No page 1 does not update on screen line 10, there is no input filed of calculation there. Line 10 populates only on print. YES, I did check, uncheck, etc the little blue box.

Yes tried many solutions to SS & Medi. Changed "maintain employee fields", attempted to overwrite on W-2 preparer screen. No matter W-2's would not process if SS & Medi boxes were blank. Cost me hours of billable time tryin to solve a tax saving issue that was worth much less. I just paid the tax for the client and went forward. ..... Just maybe I am the only one out there that has this issue. Did not anticipate it to be rocket science.

No thanks. I have many alternate W-2, 1099 software process alternatives as well as an excel spreadsheet that a 2nd grader can use to populate and print very efficiently. Keeping it simple...
