Hello, I am new to sage and want some help. Is it possible to change the fiscal year end for the internal books and set a different fiscal year for the other books? How can I go about doing that?

Sage 50 only allows you to run one Fiscal Year for a singular company. If the Fiscal Year that is set up in your system is not what you need for it to be, please reach out to us as we can assist you with changing this, and retaining all of your historical data. https://pcosupport.com 800-780-0700

    Hi Alex,

You can have 99 companies in your Sage 50 Program   I am not sure what you are trying to accomplish but you may consider setting up separate companies and consolidating at the end of the year if need be.

If you need to change the year-end dates or periods of your data we offer a one-day service to help you get your data realigned to the correct periods.

Please feel free to reach out to [email protected] if you need more information.   304-233-2612

You can only consolidate companies that have the same Fiscal Year Structure, so setting up additional companies wouldn't help what this client is attempting to accomplish.

Correct, you cannot consolidate in Sage 50, but you can always consolidate in Excel.  I understand why they would be looking for different fiscal years in one company.  Many nonprofits get sizable grants from different agencies that have different fiscal years.  It can be difficult to track the expenditures when the agency closes on September 30th and your books close on December 30th.  Other than using Job costing and special accounts that I teach people how to use, it is difficult to run a financial statement out of Sage 50 because it does not allow you to pull an income statement that crosses over into 2 years.
