issues after switching to Sage 50 Cloud

Hello,

Our company added Sage 50 Cloud to our subscription in May 2021 and we have been having a consistent issue and I can't seem to find much information on it. The issue is users will get a message saying: "The company must be closed in order to apply the latest changes from Remote Data Access. Company will automatically close in 1 minute" This message will popup multiple times a day for each user or sometimes not at all for a couple days. The problem is sometimes when the company closes and reopens, several *.DAT files will go missing and the company will fail to reopen. The solution is to delete the company folder from the users PC and redownload the company from Remote Data Access. Has anyone encountered this?

Thanks,

Chris

  • Same issue here.  Recently, our CHART.DAT file corrupted and rendered our company file useless.  The Rebuild Index feature didn't work either and after getting escalated to highest level of support, they suggest we reach out to a third party partner to rebuild.  We're moving away from RDA and going to a hosting solution.  Too many issues can cause those .DAT file to corrupt, especially using wireless networks.  Sage recommends cable-based connections to a network.  Too many opportunities for issues with file synchronization, which is basically what this is, especially if you don't have a robust internal IT department.  Sage 50 cloud is really just hosting and centralizing a collection of .DAT files, not a centralized application/database solution like I thought.
