Sage Peachtree data files on NAS

Question

I have a Synology DS220+ which I would like to use as a file server and store the live Sage data files as well. 
 Is it possible to store the company files on a NAS (Network Attach Storage) device and access such files normally from a computer with the Sage software installed pointing to a network drive datapath?

Hi, Javier! Unfortuately NAS storage can't be used for the live company files in Sage 50, since Sage 50 must have a copy of its database engine (formerly called Pervasive, now Actian Zen) able to be installed and running directly on the same drive as the live company data.  It is possible to move backups of companies to NAS hard drives though. We recommend creating the backup on the main drive first to prevent performance issues, but once it's made you can move or copy it wherever you like.
