What program are you using?  (Year and Version please.)  Also, how many active user licenses do you have when this happens?   

Is this a standard check form or is it customized?   Does it happen when you use a Sage default form?

We are using Sage 50 Quantum Accounting (US) 2023 Build: 30.0.00.0222

We have 2 active user licenses when this happens, we used to only have one and didn't encounter this problem.

It is a customized check form to match our organizations check format.

The accountant and her backup are out today but I will try the default form after the holiday and reply with my findings.

So to be clear, you purchased 2 licenses from Sage, correct or you installed the one user program on 2 computers?

Thanks for that information.   Does this happen on a customized form?  If yes, try using one of Sage's standard forms.  You may need to recreate the form you are using if it is corrupted.    If you look at the forms folder in the Sage data file, you can see the size.  If it is very large, it is a good indication that it should be recreated.

If the form file were corrupted though, wouldn't restarting the server not correct the issue?  One of the two users told me that they encountered an error message that mentioned the SmartPosting service having an issue, but of course they didn't take a screenshot or write down what it said.

Ok then go Maintain Tab > Company information > and change to REAL TIME posting.

That will fix the smart posting error.
