Why won't Sage send emails

As of today my company's Sage 50 US Edition has started popping up error messages every time we try to send an email from Sage.

I went into Maintenance and made sure the email settings were correct.

I even logged out and logged back in as an Admin and still no difference.

As soon as I fix one computer, another computer has the same issue.

I go back and forth every hour and there is no reason for this.

Does anyone have any idea and how to fix this?

I've been having issues sending emails from Sage 50 using Outlook.  It used to work seamlessly. Sage tech support told me that I need to be logged in as Admin on both Sage 50 and Outlook.  If that doesn't work, I'll try generating the email from Sage while Outlook is closed.  The individual email window will open, I will make any necessary edits to the email, then send.  When I reopen Outlook, the email is in the outbox waiting to send.  At times, Sage and Outlook completely lock up when trying to work together and requires me to shut down and restart.  None of these workarounds should be necessary.  I'm hoping one of the updates will resolve the issue.  I use Sage 50 and Outlook on a standalone PC, the software is located on my hard drive, and I am the only person using the software.

We have also had this issue since we updated to the latest version of Sage.  Please let me know if you have figured out a fix.  Thanks

    Hi Andy,

Thanks for reaching out. Have you tried the steps on this article yet for adjusting email settings within Sage 50? Pasted the steps below:

Set Sage to bypass your Outlook email program:

    1. Go to Maintain, Email Setup.
    2. In Email Setup you can choose to use your default desktop email program (usually Outlook or Thunderbird), or you can Use webmail account.
    3. The Webmail account option will allow you to set Sage to email using Outlook.com, Gmail,Yahoo, and Other

Note that if Sage 50 is creating the email in your default email program, but you are not able to send the email you will need to troubleshoot your email software.

Both Sage 50 and Microsoft Outlook must be run with the same level of access. We recommend you run both as an administrator:

    1. Right-click the program shortcut, then click Properties.
    2. Click the Compatibility tab.
    3. Under Settings or Privilege Level, select the Run this program as an administrator check box.
    4. Click OK then open the software.

If this is not possible, you should ensure that neither program is being run as an administrator by following the steps above and clearing the check box.

If you need guidance with the steps to take, technical support for Sage 50 US is available for those on the latest version and or on a service plan. Here's a link for chat support and or phone at 1-866-747-3888. Hope this helps!

    Warm Regards,

Sometimes, security software like firewalls or antivirus programs can interfere with email communication. Temporarily disable these security programs or create exceptions for Sage 50 US Edition to see if it resolves the issue.

Erzsi,  I prefer not to log in as Administrator in Microsoft Outlook .  I lose search function options in Outlook when I am logged in as Admin.  If I follow your advice above and clear the check box so that Sage 50 also does not run as an Administrator, what functionality will I lose in Sage 50 US as opposed to when I'm using Sage 50 logged in as an Administrator?  Thank you.
