PCA 2012 won't work

SOLVED

I used PC Mover to transfer all applications and files to my new computer.  PCA is the only program not working.  When opened, the icons and print are oversized and when I try to enter any data, the program shuts down.  I tried deleting PCA 2012 from my new computer and using the install disk, but the same problem occurs.  Any idea on what to do?  Thank you.

Hi Thomas -- PCA 2012 won't activate when moved to a new computer -- if you'd like to discuss options to upgrade and have your data converted to Sage 50 Premium 2024 feel free to give us a call at 800-339-8224.

    Thanks ... Tim

The version Peachtree Complete Accounting 2012 is too old to be installed on your new computer.  You will need to upgrade to the current version (2024) of Sage 50 US Edition Premium because Sage has discontinued the Complete product.  Your 2012 data is too old for Sage 2024 to convert automatically so the conversion will require a "stair step" conversion. The process to convert your data is to install Sage 50 US edition Premium version 2018, convert your data, then install Sage 50 US Edition Premium version 2024 and convert the data.

You can purchase Sage version 2024 through us as we are a Sage Certified Reseller and we offer a conversion service to get your data up to version 2024.

When I moved all my files from my Acer to my HP about five years ago, I was able to use PCA 2012 on the new computer.  Two weeks ago I  moved  all my files from my old HP using Windows 11 to my new HP using Windows 11, PCA won't work.  So why did it work at the previous migration and not the current migration, with both computes using Windows 11 Home?

Right click on your PCA 2012 icon and on the Compatibility Tab, set the icon to run in Compatibility Mode as Windows XP. Also, if you have your Serial Number and Activation Number, PCA 2012 was the last version that allowed you to activate the software manually. You will also need to reinstall PCA 2012 vs just moving the installation files, as various Registry Keys are updated in Windows when you install. Our company supports older versions of Peachtree and Sage 50, so feel free to reach out to us if we can be of any other assistance.

Your reply is not correct.  I followed the instructions from another member and it solved my problem.
