when trying to open a company i receive a message unable to determine security privileges

This issue often arises due to various factors, such as a user being in the Maintain, Company Information section, abnormal termination of Sage 50—U.S. Edition, a damaged company folder, issues with Pervasive, or attempting to open a company from an external media device.

    To resolve this, please follow these steps:

    1. External Media Device: If opening from an external drive, move the company to an internal hard drive and try again.
    2. Close Company Information: Ensure the Company Information window is closed on all workstations.
    3. Restart Actian Service: On the server, press Windows + R, type 'services.msc', and restart the Zenengine service. Then, check if you can access the company.
    4. Reboot Computers: In a network environment, reboot all workstations and the server. Have one user log in first, followed by others.
    5. Clean Company Folder: Refer to 'Create a clean data folder and expendable file cleanup'.
    6. Reinstall Actian: Follow the guide for removing and reinstalling Actian.
    7. Repair Program: Remove all but the individual company data folder, then run Repair on the program.
    8. Restore a Backup: If all else fails, restore a backup into a new company.
