Hopefully someone else has a better solution. I look up item numbers in the inventory list before creating the sales order.

You can search by the items description if you hit the Find button in your screen shot and then type some general in there.  It will go to the first item with that word and then you can hit the Next button to scroll to the next item and so on so it should work exactly how you need it.  [email protected] 

That does not work for me as that Find only looks in the Item # field. Unless you know of a setting somewhere that has it work in the description field?

That Find searches the description field.  I just tested it, I added zzz to an item description and hit the find, entered zzz and it pulled it right up.

Type in Bev and it should pull up that last item in the screen shot.  The less specific the better results

I am not the original poster to test with Bev, but using my own items, that does not work for me. It only searches the item number. Hopefully it will work for the poster, though.

Yup, also tested is (original poster) and it is not working. Bev is not showing up. 

I would have to take a look but mine is working exactly as you would need it.  I don't type anything in the item id, I hit the search spyglass, hit Find and type in something general and that goes right to that in the description.

First of all, thank you both for sparing your time here helping us. I just tried to do what you said, I don't type anything yet, hit the spyglass, then "find" spyglass. Type in the description keywords and nothing. It brings me to nowhere. I think the way that it works must be different than the more advanced item id search. Whatever it is, sadly it doesn't do the trick.
