    Hi Larry,

I think it is easier to use the Sage program to convert the data rather than to import it. That being said, the conversion process may not give you the results you want as far as the transactions coming over, but generally the Maintenance records populate pretty well with little to no clean up. If you can get the Maintenance records (Customer, Vendor, Inventory, Jobs, Chart of Accounts lists) into a converted Sage company and you don't want the transactions that came over, you could set up a new Sage company #2 and export the Maintenance records from Company #1 and import them into Company #2.  Then you would just need to enter beginning balances for the A/R, A/P, Inventory, General Ledger as per your cut over date.

For example, if your fiscal year is 1/1/2024-12/31/2024 and if your cut over date in 2/29/2024 for A/R, A/P, Inventory, then you would enter beginning balances for those balances under the maintain Customer, Vendors, etc.  For the General Ledger you would enter beginning balances for 12/31/2023. Then in QB you would run a Sales Journal, Cash Receipt Journal, Purchase Journal, Payment Journal, etc. by GL account for Jan 2024 and Feb 2024 and enter that data into Sage company #2.

None of your history would be in company # 2, but you could reference history through QB.

I can't speak for what Sage Support is willing to do to assist you with a QB conversion, but I would certainly ask.

    Hope this is helpful.

I agree, even though Sage can bring over the history it is a mess and might take more time to clean up.  Instead, I like to convert the QB data into a Sage company including the history but not actually use that company.  I will then export the customers, vendors, items, chart of accounts out of that Sage company and clean them up, then import into the live Sage company I would actually use.  This will allow for a cleaner cutover and it's much easier exporting out of Sage and into Sage so would save a bit of time in the process.  Let me know if you need any assistance as we have the tools and versions to help make the process less painful.  [email protected]

What types of data can be imported from QuickBooks into Sage, and are there any restrictions on the size or format of the capcut photo template data?
