So..even if we can use the current security protocols (TLS 1.2), you will not permit use of the product by "perpetual" license holders. 

Really interesting, given:

But I don't think it's a good reason. We spent money to get the software, but you can simply say this and tell us to pay more money to get another newer version. It's really disappointed me. It's a very poor experience with this software, comparing to the older version. Now I still have an version of 2010, and it's still working properly. But now the new version is extremely poor!!! If in this case, you may simply tell the users: It can't be activated anymore, as it's outdated. However, I've really wasted lot of time, and finally knew this actual reason. Right?

Judging by Sage's growth and share price - I wouldn't expect anything to change.  I'm guessing Intacct is the future focus..and perhaps SMB cloud-based SAAS.
