Issue with 2014 and 2015 Sage 50 Premium Accounting not fully installing - What's New pop-up and WebSync Wizard

SUGGESTED

I have had an issue, since the 2014 version of Sage 50 where Sage 50 Premium Accounting will not load properly on new, 64 bit, PC's (see other post "Issue with Sage 50 Premium 2014, 2015 on 64 bit machines").

I have been looking into this issue even further and have a possible reason for this issue for anyone from Sage that might be monitoring this forum.

I have one 64 bit PC that is older than the other PC's. It was installed in 2012. I installed Sage 50 Premium Accounting US Edition 2014 first on the PC (didn't connect to Company as I already fully upgraded to 2015) and then upgraded that PC to 2015. Both versions installed and ran without issue. No problems with the What's New pop-up box and WebSync Wizard and Step 3 completed in less than a minute.

The primary difference between this PC and the other PC's is age (2012 vs. 2014) and therefore the components that make up the PC. I do not order my PC's from Dell or HP, I source them locally. The one I experimented on uses an Intel H61 express chipset on its Motherboard. The new PC's, all installed between April and August 2014, use an Intel B85 chipset on the Motherboards.

I have reviewed the construction of all the machines in question and this is the only real difference between the two types. I believe this could be be enough to cause issues with the installation of the product. It would also explain the seeming randomness of the issue depending on age and components other users have on their machines.

If anyone else is experiencing such issues please reply. Sage 50 is aware of the problem and is working on it.

09/09/2014 a.m. - I have received an update from a Sage employee who has, as has happened before on this issue, dumped the issue back on my lap. These four PC's have a myriad of other programs installed on them - Event Pro Planner - Quickscribe Dictation - Corel - Office 2010 - several financial and legal programs AND FAS - all of which had no issue downloading or functioning, but I'm being told the problem is a damaged Windows install. I do not see how, with everything else loaded on these machines, including another Sage 50 product, how the issue can be a damaged Windows install.

If anyone has any suggestions or ideas, please let me know.

This is my official mea culpa - the issue was with the PC"s. I made our PC supplier provide me with a brand new unit with Windows 7 installed out of the box, not from their image, and Sage 50 installed without an issue. Even though the problems I was having mirrored a known issue Sage 50 is having where the What's New screen does function properly and Web Sync Wizard does not work, the issue is something in the image the PC provider was using. That image stopped the Internet based functions from working properly. At this time the PC provider has not indicated what was stopping these services from installing, but is replacing all the newly installed PC's.
