Was this report specifically customized by Sage (in house) or was it by a third party report writer? It seems this report was customized using an older version of the financial report designer.

The latest version of the Financial report designer does indeed contain this feature and is available for download using the Sage Intelligence Reports Utility for free. 

Once you download that, you will need to customize the report once more. The drill down will work from that point on.

Hi David,

I was able to successfully download the report and I am able to drill-down to the drill-down balance report, however, I am still getting the same error message when I try to drill-down to the actual ledger transactions. 

The report was created by our accounting department, but it's not truly "customized" in our aspect. We are simply using the standard reports and "customizing" the layout in the layout generator feature. We are not changing any formulas. 

Here is the error message from the drill-down balance sheet. This is from the standard report- nothing has been changed or customized.

I'm trying to see the general ledger detail. In order to do that, according to sage, you have to drill-down twice.

The first drill-down creates a balance report, and you are supposed to be able to drill down on this drill-down balance report to see the actual ledger transactions.

Is this a sage 50 US intelligence video?

I don't know but I should still be able to drill-down to see the general ledger detail.

Drilling Down on Values

Sage Intelligence Reporting provides the ability to drill down to view the detail of the data being returned by a formula.  

To drill down on a value to the account balance details, right-click and select Drill Down.Down.

A new worksheet named Drill Balance will be created in the Microsoft Excel workbook with the account balance details of the data.

To drill down further to GL transaction level, right-click on the cell which contains the value you want to view more detail on, and select Drill Down again. Another new worksheet named Drill Transactions will be created with the GL transaction details.

Note: Drill Down will show you balances of the accounts which were being referenced in the formula you drilled down on. It does not take account rule mathematical context into account, and therefore does not apply different signs (+ or -) based on the mathematical context. For example if you drill down on the following rule 1000 - 3000, the drill down will show you the account balances of all accounts which match this rule. it will not put a negative sign in front of accounts which match 3000.

Ok we could be missing an add-in "dll" file for the sage 50 US version. Let me do some research
