Inventory Movement Analysis/Report

SOLVED

I am looking for reporting that shows both purchases and sales with quantities and $ CR/DB.

Found reports do not show data on items with Current O/H of zero or do not show the desired detail. Working with LIFO inventory and would also like to be able to show this in action.

Perhaps Inventory Profitability Report, check the columns...

That report, with the available additional Columns "Units Purc(hased)" and "Purc($)" is okay if only an aggregated value is desired. It is odd that this report still shows some Items that appear to have no activity when "Include items with no activity" is not checked.

Valid response, just not quite what I'm hoping for.

If I knew an Item was sold for a certain quantity, but have no recollection of exactly who or when, a detailed Item History Report could help identify the Who, When and How Much for both AR and AP transactions.

You can use the Item Management Screen to see everything related to an items history.  If you go to the Inventory & Services on the left and then you will see Inventory/Service Management.  I typically choose the customize for clients and add relevant transaction tiles to the screen then you can modify the tiles columns as needed.  I usually set this up for clients and then they can pick the item and get any information they would need and it is all drillable.  Another very useful tool for what you are asking is under Lists Pulldown menu, Inventory & Services, Item Sales History by Customer.  You can pick an item and see who all bought, when and how much plus can filter by any selected column.  Take a look and if you need any other reporting tips just let me know.  [email protected]

Closer. The filtering seems odd in that the filter for Date Range on the tiles are not linked. For analysis or communication (via Excel or other) it requires exporting multiple files and then aggregating. I am betting this is the best answer for the SAGE environment.

Being new to SAGE, I am disappointed in not being able to select an item name and copying it so I can paste the value for use/search elsewhere in SAGE.

If you are searching by Item Name you can use the Find button when in the search or list screens. ie if you are in the inventory item maintenance screen and hit the spyglass lookup, there is a Find option that will search by item description.  The search's are typically not an issue in Sage so it may depend on the screen you are in.  As for the tiles, I usually set them all to This Year or ALL if the data isn't big and once you pick the record you see everything in one shot.  There is also one other report that might be of some use, the item costing report under Inventory reports will show all the related purchases, adjustments and sales of an item in one report.  It is best used to figure out how an item got its cost or to research a qty discrepancy but might be of some help here.  We can also write whatever report is needed using Crystal but that is best used if the report is a regular need and Excel has been used mainly to recreate the analysis.  [email protected]

Thanks for repointing to the Item Costing Report. At first glance it didn't appear to fit some of my hopes.

It is a little bit of a failure, imho, by SAGE where the Remaining QTY is zero it is displayed as Null. My data experience says that is a bad practice. Null <> Zero and when they are equated as the same as SAGE is doing, it takes an unecessary work around for certain data-analysis.

On "As for the tiles, I usually set them all to This Year or ALL if the data isn't big and once you pick the record you see everything in one shot." I am not seeing a way to change the filter for all tiles at once. Is it really that user has to change them all one-at-a-time?
