Sage 50 “MRP” style possibilities

Hello, 

  1. Im extremely new to Sage but recently started working as a purchaser at a Plastic Injection facility. We use Sage 50 and I hear different things from different employees on what sage50 is capable of. 

  2. im wanting to be able to have a way to do MRP style reports so I can run reports on orders that have been placed to see what’s needed in raw material.

I suppose I’m just wondering if Sage50 can do this and if not what’s the add on needed or system?

    Hi Brandon, Your wish to run an MRP style of report needs to be more specific. Bear in mind, that what you are seeking is likely a report for a manufacturing environment, and by and large, Sage 50 is not specific to manufacturing, rather it is a general accounting system. However, there is an excellent add-on product out of Vermont, called MISys and I am quite sure you could get the level of reporting you are looking for.     If you have a minimum stock, reorder qty and a preferred vendor setup within the items you can run reports and utiltiies and the system can suggest what items should be purchased.  It works pretty well, I can show you real quick if you want to see what is capable within the base software.  [email protected]
