HELP-Can we run our first 2017 payroll prior to closing 2016 (December and the year)?

We have had a delay in closing December and 2016 because of my accountants unexpected absence from work.

We have payroll tomorrow.

Can we run January payroll without closing the month AND or year (2016).

    You will need to close December for Payroll prior to printing a January payroll check. If you have not printed all your payroll tax reports yet, then we suggested you create an archive or copy of your current company prior to closing December. You can then using that company to print your tax reports, while you go forward and close Payroll in December in your regular company. We have several Knowledge Base articles to assist you.
