Deceased Employee's Final Check

Can someone give me step by step instructions for paying a deceased employee's final check?  We need to divide her final pay between three children.  Thanks!

    I am so sorry for your loss. My sympathy goes out to your company and extended family. In BusinessWorks, payroll checks are only issued under the employee’s ID and name. Any check issued out of payroll is recorded under that employee’s ID for all tax reports, which includes the W2-s. In addition, different state laws can come into play on how to handle a deceased employee’s check as well as who the employee’s beneficiary was. Since BusinessWorks has no set procedures for this issue, I would recommend calling support to discuss what the exact needs are for your company and they can discuss what your options are within the program.
