Time clock to use with Businesworks Payroll

Hi, We're looking to purchase updated time clocks that will integrate with our Sage Businessworks payroll module.  Does anyone have any suggestions?

  • Sorry I don't have a software solution for your question, but I just want to give some insight on switching technologies.

    Physical Time clock verse Web base App

    For a long time we had a time clock by our employee entrance, connected to a server app and it had a nice front end for reporting.
    the employees were issued a badge (barcode) and swiped while arriving and when leaving. quite a low number of missed punches per week due to the location of the time clock.

    Well in 2017, our payroll company requested that we change to a online app.  Oh boy the problems. a web app, android and iPhone app are available.

    Problems that occur regular basis:

    1. Geo fencing  (your out side the GPS box the program has for the location) though your standing right where the old time clock was.
    2. Every 30 days you have to re-authorize you phone or device(ipad)
    3. Server is busy at end of day ( 500pm) and your punch don't get thru in timely manner (2 mins)
    4. out of sync with missed punch ( you should be clocked in but it has you out )

    Many of the issues have to be cleared by the manager/admin before payroll can be done.

    Nice things about the web app.
    1. Team Calendar
    2. Accurate PTO  available
    3. requesting Time off - emails are sent to manger and her/his above manager (covers for out of office situations)
    4. W2/W4 editing
    5. online access to pay history & pay sub (used while buying a car in 2019)
    6. able to time clock personnel off site (working from home or at job site)
