ODBC Connections and Intergrations with Business Works

SUGGESTED

Hi,

We've been using Business Works for years and now need to integrate Order and Invoice data into our in-house proprietary external database that manages our operations.

We have a few questions:

  • Can we use SQL to set up an ODBC connection?
  • How can we obtain any extra licenses or permissions required?
  • Is it possible to use Excel 64 bit for ODBC reporting or is it restricted to 32 bit?

We 'd also like to hear from the community if anyone has experience integrating Business Works with other systems.

Many thanks,
Michelle

Depending on what you are trying to ingrate, Business Works is going to restrict you on what you can bring IN to the program.  Currently, if using Inventory and Order Entry, you can only import in the Sales Order.  Then you can convert the Sales Order to an invoice once it is in the BW program.  Sage BusinessWorks database tables can be accessed from any application that can access ODBC drivers.  Sage BusinessWorks only uses 32 bit drivers.
