Accessing File Problem

I am the volunteer treasurer of a non-profit org using BW 12.3.  Our bookkeeper of many years is very ill, and will not be able to continue.  I am trying to learn BW well enough to keep things going until we hire a replacement.  I was a cpa many years ago, so have a knowledge of accounting.
The problem is that I can access the BikeWorks sample program files OK, but our company drop down options from the menu bar are greyed out and not accessible, so I can't do anything with them.  I "assume" the password is correct, since BikeWorks is accessible. 

Any suggestions, please?

    Unfortunately the version your are using 12.3 has not been supported for a long time (about 15 years) so we have limited information to assist you in that version. However, some things for you to try: 1) verify that your registration information is entered for your version. 2) login with the MANAGER ID. That should give you rights to all companies. If you need any additional assistance then I would have you call support at 800-447-5700 for additional assistance.
