Never lose a printout again!

If you're like many of our customers, you like to save on paper and send your printouts to file rather than to the printer. For years, users have been accustomed to and successfully saved their printouts to file. Have you ever run into a scenario when you forgot the name of your printout? or couldn't recall which folder you had saved it to? Was it on my Desktop? Was it my data folder? I CAN'T REMEMBER!!!!

Have no fear! Our latest version now have a setting that can automatically save your printouts to file! No more worrying about whether or not you saved your report in the right place or with the right name. The system allow to you select the Windows directory or folder that you want to save your printouts to. Once set, you can select the name criteria of your printouts!

From any of the modules, select ToolsOptions.

Once in Options, select the Journals tab. To enable the feature, check the box for Automatically print journal to file. Keep in mind that this is a universal setting meaning that this will change for ALL users that are using this data folder.

The first field, Journal Folder, is the selection for the folder name convention that you would like to select. (ex. <Application>\<Task Name>\<User Name>\<Year>\<Month>\<Day>) The example would create a folder each application and withing sub folders for each Task, User, Year, Month, and Day in that order. You can customize how you would like.

The next option of Journal File will give you option of the naming standard to give the printout. (ex. <Month>_<Day>_<Year>_<Time>). When you execute a task that usual issues a printout, it would save the file as: 07_16_2014_0806. Based upon the Journal Folder selection above, it would be saved in a location of: ...\PR\Print Checks\kahyo\2014\07\16
