Upgrading from a prior version to the latest and greatest can prove to be beneficial to your company. You can take advantage of any new features that were added and possibly resolve prior issues you may have been having in specific modules. Here are some key points to consider before upgrading to our latest 13.1 Rev 7:

• You cannot upgrade from a version less than 9.7 to 13.1 on the same machine. The Prerequisites check will stop you if it finds a version of Sage 300 CRE lower than 9.7. It is recommended that you first upgrade to version 9.8 and then onto 13.1
• If you are doing a vertical migration (Moving from one server to another and upgrading to 13.1 at the same time), then use the migration tool to bring over the customization's and data from the old machine. You should be fine as long as you are vertically upgrading from no less than 9.5 to 13.1. 
• You may upgrade directly to version 13.1 from any of these versions 9.7, 9.8, or 12.1.

Be sure to fully review the 13.1 User Guide PDF prior to migrating/upgrading your installation to ensure you have all of the necessary requirements in place.
