Creating Phases for RFI's & Submittals

SUGGESTED

Hi Folks,

I have a project that is split into two phases, BUT the contract is for one price (not broken into phases).  I'd like to track my RFI's & submittals by phase; is there a way to create phases within the project that WON'T impact my budget etc?  If not, any other suggestions?

Thanks!

    Hi Aron,

There is not a way to use Phases without affecting the job itself. But on the RFIs and Submittals, you can try using one of the User Def fields in the header to designate which Phase it's for - this can be filtered by on reports.

    Thanks Greig!

With utilizing the User Defined Fields to be able to choose Phase 1 or Phase 2, I assume I'd have to manually manage the RFI numbers, otherwise they'd just populate based on the Job #, correct?

It will not be able to use or tie to the actual phases; it's just a alpha-numeric field you would type in; just have to make sure the data entry is consistent for all users. You can assure this by placing your cursor in the field, pressing the F7 button on your keyboard to bring up Field Properties, check the "Limit to List" box, then Save. Then you can can create of list of values and users can only select those values
